If you've decided on a desert day, the next question is usually 'short quad-and-sunset, or the long Super Safari combo'. The quad part is the same on both. Everything else - the camel, the dinner, the sandboarding - lives only on the Super Safari. The 3-hour version exists so travelers who only want the quad don't have to commit to a 6-hour day.
Both programs start with a safety briefing. The guide demonstrates the quad controls and rides at the head of the convoy. Closed shoes and sunglasses or goggles are essential because of the dust. Bring a light jacket for the sunset/evening return.
