Yala Spa in Hurghada: How It Works, Free Hotel Transfer Included

After a long day of snorkeling, quad-biking or wandering the bazaar, the last thing you want is to hail a taxi to a spa you've never heard of. Yala Spa solves the hassle: you book a package online, a private driver collects you from your hotel reception, takes you to our partner spa in central Hurghada for the treatment, and brings you back to your accommodation when you're done. The spa is a proper spa, not a hotel room. Below is exactly how the service works, the four packages we offer and how to choose between them.
How a Yala Spa session actually works
Five simple steps, and we handle every one of them:
- You book online or by WhatsApp and choose your package: 60-minute aromatherapy, 90-minute deep tissue, Cleopatra Plus, or Moroccan Hammam. Pick a preferred time window.
- We confirm within an hour with the exact pickup time and the driver's name. The day before, we send a WhatsApp with the final pickup time.
- Your driver collects you from the hotel reception 15 to 20 minutes before your appointment. The drive to the partner spa is 10 to 15 minutes from most central Hurghada hotels.
- You relax at the spa. Private treatment room, premium oils and products, qualified English-speaking therapists. Robe, slippers and towels are provided. You bring nothing but yourself.
- The driver waits and brings you back to your hotel or hostel when the session ends. Round-trip transfer is included in every package price.
The four packages
60-minute aromatherapy massage, from EUR 15
The classic and the most-booked. Full-body relaxing massage with premium aromatherapy oils. Gentle to medium pressure, the right choice for travellers winding down after a day at sea or a long flight.
90-minute deep tissue massage, from EUR 20
A therapeutic deep tissue and Swedish-style blend that targets the shoulders, lower back and legs. The right pick for tense or active travellers, or anyone who carried a heavy backpack across the desert.
Cleopatra Plus ritual, 90 minutes, from EUR 25
Starts with a full-body Cleopatra honey scrub that exfoliates and brightens the skin, followed by a 60-minute aromatherapy massage. Skin feels visibly glowing for days; body is deeply relaxed. Our most popular ritual for travellers celebrating a special occasion.
Moroccan Hammam ritual, 90 minutes, from EUR 25
The traditional Moroccan hammam, done properly at the spa: warm steam to open the pores, black-soap exfoliation, kessa-glove scrub, and a finishing aromatherapy massage. The most thorough reset, and the only package that requires the spa's steam room (which is why we never try to do it in a hotel).
Why we don't do this in your hotel room
Travellers sometimes ask if we can send a therapist to their hotel instead. The honest answer is no, and here is why:
- Quality of the work depends on the equipment. A proper massage table, steam room, and warm-water station make the difference between a real spa session and a rushed hotel-room massage.
- Hygiene is easier to control at the spa. Linen is laundered to spa standards, products are stored properly, and the room is reset between guests by trained staff.
- The hammam is impossible without a steam room. No hotel bathroom can replicate it.
- Hotels are not built for relaxation. Housekeeping knocks, the air conditioner is loud, the floor is hard, the lighting is fluorescent. The spa is designed for the opposite of all of that.
The compromise: we make the transfer so easy that the spa essentially comes to you. A driver to your reception, 10 to 15 minutes in an air-conditioned car, then proper spa hours, then the same driver back. You never need to navigate a taxi, a fare, or a Google Maps address.
How to prepare before your session
- Be ready 15 minutes before pickup. Wait in the hotel lobby so the driver does not have to call the room.
- Skip the heavy meal in the hour before. A light snack and water is fine.
- Shower if you have been at the beach. Salt and sand on the skin reduce how well oils absorb.
- Wear loose clothes that are easy to slip on and off. Tight jeans after a massage ruin the feeling.
- Bring a swimsuit if you booked the hammam. The steam-and-scrub portion is more comfortable in one.
After the session
- Drink a glass of water when you get back to the hotel. Massage releases toxins; hydration helps flush them.
- Avoid hot showers or saunas for at least 4 hours, especially after the Cleopatra Plus or Moroccan Hammam.
- Skip alcohol for 6 hours. The combination dehydrates and undoes the muscle release.
- Do not scrub again the next day if you had Cleopatra Plus or the hammam. Your skin has just been freshly exfoliated; let it recover.
Health and safety
Our partner spa's therapists are qualified and have worked with international guests in Hurghada for years. Please tell us at booking if you:
- Are pregnant. A gentler prenatal massage option exists. Standard packages are not done in the first trimester.
- Have a recent injury, surgery or blood pressure condition. The therapist can adapt or skip pressure work entirely.
- Have any allergy to oils or scrub ingredients. We switch to a hypoallergenic alternative.
- Are taking blood thinners. Pressure is reduced to light only.
If you are unsure which package suits you, message us on WhatsApp before booking and we will recommend the right one.
Tipping
Tipping is not expected but is appreciated. 10 to 15 percent of the package price is a normal range if you enjoyed the session. Cash at the spa at the end is easiest.
When to book Yala Spa during your holiday
The three sweet spots:
- The evening of an active day. After a snorkeling boat trip or a desert safari, your muscles will thank you.
- A rest day mid-holiday. Many travellers do the safari on day 2, the boat trip on day 3, then book the Cleopatra Plus on day 4 to reset.
- The last evening before flying. A 60-minute aromatherapy session the night before a long flight is a small luxury that pays for itself.
