How is this different from the aromatherapy massage?

The aromatherapy is gentle to medium pressure, designed to relax. The deep tissue is firm pressure working into the muscles, designed to release tension and trigger points. Aromatherapy if you want to unwind, deep tissue if you have actual tension to work out.

Deep tissue work pushes into discomfort, especially at the trigger points, but never beyond what you accept. Tell the therapist if you want more or less pressure at any moment, they adjust in real time. Some travelers feel a little sore the next day, like after a workout.

Can I do this after a scuba dive?

Wait at least 4 hours after your last dive, ideally the next day. Massage right after diving is not recommended because of the way it can move nitrogen out of tissues. After other activities (snorkel, safari, yacht) there's no waiting period.

I have a back injury, is this safe?

Tell us at booking. The therapist will adapt or, if it's a serious injury (slipped disc, recent surgery), we'll recommend the 60-minute aromatherapy instead. Massage is not a substitute for medical care.

The 90-minute deep tissue session is therapeutic rather than relaxing. It's the treatment we recommend for travelers who came to Hurghada carrying months of desk tension in the shoulders, lower back and hip flexors, or who want real muscle work after a long surf or active sea day. Our therapist works firm pressure into the trigger points, then eases out with longer relaxing strokes for the last fifteen minutes. The session is at our partner spa in central Hurghada, in a private treatment room. Private hotel transfer is included: driver collects you about 15 minutes before, brings you back when the session ends. Plan about two hours from pickup to drop-off.
